We invite you to submit your interest in hosting the Paediatric Radiation Oncology Society Congress in 2026.
This biennial event is a highlight for all professions involved in using radiation to treat children’s cancer: not just radiation or clinical oncologists, but also therapeutic radiographers or radiation therapists, radiotherapy physicists or clinical scientists, and other members of the wider multi-professional team involved in the care of these patients.
The Paediatric Radiation Oncology Society (PROS) has a rich history dating back to 2005, when Christian Carrie convened the first international meeting in Lyon, France, recognizing the need for a specialized focus on radiation therapy for pediatric cancers.
This marked the beginning of PROS’s journey, leading to its formal incorporation shortly after.
Since then, PROS has maintained a biennial congress tradition, alternating with meetings at the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) Congress.
With events across Europe, Asia, and North America, PROS has fostered a global community dedicated to advancing pediatric radiation oncology.
Why host a PROS Congress?
"PROS Congresses are about meeting up with friends and colleagues from around the world to share the latest information about our special area of radiation oncology practice. Hosting a PROS Congress is an enormous privilege, allowing your PROS friends to visit your unique part of the world and share your local practices. This will be the one and only opportunity for most of your local, national, and regional paediatric radiation oncology team of therapists, physicists and allied health professionals to attend a Congress, providing them with a unique educational and professional opportunity. They will almost certainly develop lifelong professional collaborations from around the world. A Congress with educational day trains the next generation of radiation oncologists, encouraging them to consider sub-speciality practice in paediatrics."
