The Paediatric Radiation Oncology Society (PROS) is proud to highlight its recently published position paper, "Paediatric Radiation Oncology Society (PROS) Position Paper on the Ethical Utilization of Proton Therapy."
This open-access publication represents a collaborative effort by PROS members and international experts to provide guidance on the ethical considerations surrounding the use of proton therapy for children with cancer. The paper examines key issues including equitable access to care, evidence-based patient selection, responsible resource allocation, and the need to balance innovation with fairness in healthcare delivery.
As proton therapy continues to expand globally, the position paper offers an important framework to support clinicians, institutions, policymakers, and healthcare systems in making ethical and patient-centred decisions.
